CICA-RE: workshop on the legal cession

On 28 and 29 November 2019 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, CICA-RE organized a seminar on "The legal cession on each and every policy issued :challenges and practical operating methods".

The objective of the meeting was to expose to the direct insurance companies members of the CIMA zone the operating mode of this legal cession as well as its reinsurance framework. Jean Baptiste Kouamé, general manager of CICA-Re, seized the opportunity to clarify that the legal cession on reinsurance treaties accounted only for 17.63% of his company's turnover in 2018.

As a reminder, as of January 1, 2020, the reinsurer will benefit from a 5% legal cession on all policies issued and 10% on all reinsurance treaties. The legal cession of CICA-RE on reinsurance treaties was 15%.
