CICA-RE's Tunis branch starts its activities
CICA-RE's Tunis branch has officially started its activities. A ceremony was held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Hotel de Paris (Berges du Lac Tunis) to celebrate this event.
In addition to its headquarters in Lome (Togo) and its Tunis branch, the Togolese reinsurer underwrites from two regional offices: Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire) for West Africa and Douala (Cameroon) for Central Africa. CICA-RE is also supported by a contact office in Nairobi, Kenya.
As pointed out by Jean Baptiste Kouamé, general manager of CICA-RE, the current share capital of 45.734 million EUR (56.2 million USD), will soon be increased to 76.224 million EUR (93.7 million USD), that is a contribution in cash of nearly 30 million EUR (36.9 million USD).
The company's turnover in 2016 was 58.3 million EUR (61.4 million USD), up by 15% compared to 50.6 million EUR (55.3 million USD)in 2015.
CICA-RE's objective is to be the reinsurance leader in the CIMA zone.
