Africa, closing of the AIO General Assembly

Marrakech hosted from 8 to 11 May 2016, the 43rd General Assembly of the African Insurance Organisation (AIO).
Nearly 800 participants from 58 countries gathered for this edition under the theme of "The African insurance between the current and emerging challenges".

Organised jointly by the Moroccan federation of insurance and reinsurance companies (FMSAR) and the Société Centrale de Réassurance (SCR), this annual event was an opportunity for participants to think over the ways of improving the insurance and reinsurance sector in Africa.

Several topics were discussed. Debates focused mainly on the growth prospects of the insurance market in Africa and the need to improve its regulatory framework.

The speakers did not fail to mention the example of Morocco; a country that has managed to develop its insurance industry and create a favorable climate for investment in this sector.
