Compensation of Egyptian public transport's victims revised upwards

Accidents of Egyptian trains and metros are managed by a pool of 11 local insurance companies.

Compensation paid to injured persons has recently risen from 20 000 EGP (1 142 USD) to 30 000 EGP (1 713 USD).

According to Alaa El Zoheiry, Chairman of the Insurance Federation of Egypt, insurers suggest to raise this compensation up to 50 000 EGP (2 856 USD) per person.
