Connected vehicles are promising

According to the study firm Deloitte, insurance based on drivers’ conduct will account for 17% of the European motor insurance market by the end of the current decade. In terms of premiums, the volume generated would amount to 15 billion EUR (15.9 billion USD). The countries most advanced in this area are Italy and Great Britain with respectively 4.5 million and 450 000 marketed policies.

In Italy, this insurance accounts for 15% of the market. The other countries are lagging behind. In France, for instance, only two insurers are distributing this kind of policy: Allianz and Direct Assurance, a subsidiary of Axa. At Allianz, only 16 000 customers are interested by this product for the time being.
