Countering motor insurance underpricing in Côte d'Ivoire

An emergency meeting was held on March 5, 2018 and was attended by the motor professional pool, (GPA), the association of insurance companies, (ASA-CI), the national association of insurance and reinsurance brokers, (ANCARCI), along with several representatives of local insurance companies with a view to finding solutions to the problem of motor insurance underpricing.

This meeting resulted in a vast control operation designed to unveil abuses that affected the pricing of motor third party liability schemes.

Sanctions up to the suspension of operation or withdrawal of license will be inflicted against offenders. The initiative, set to be launched in coming days, is aimed at halting underpricing and unfair competition that prevailed in the Ivorian market.
