Covid-19: a vaccine could be developed by the end of 2020

Since the appearance of Covid-19, several countries have engaged in a frantic race to find a vaccine for the virus. The health interest is present with strategic and financial stakes which encouraged States and laboratories to invest colossal sums of money in pharmaceutical research.

Around 30 candidate vaccines are being tested worldwide. Some are in phase 3 with promising results. In the best case scenario, a vaccine could be developed by the end of 2020 or early 2021.

It is worth noting that on 11 August 2020, Russia declared that it had developed a vaccine. However, there is not enough data available to determine its efficiency.
