COVID-19 impact on insurers' half-year results

Covid-19The coronavirus crisis is heavily impacting insurers' results. During H1 2020, several companies have recorded significantly low results. Such recession is due to the increase in the COVID-19-related loss experience, highly volatile financial markets and persistent low interests.

Insurance biggest companies such as Zurich Insurance, AXA, Allianz and Generali have sustained significant financial losses due to the provisions and reserves set aside to fight Covid-19. The pandemic even led the Aviva group to refocus its activities in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Canada.
