Covid-19: Ireland first EU country to re-impose lockdown

confinementDue to the increase in contaminations, the Irish government has imposed another lockdown in the country. This decision came into effect on the night of 21 October 2020 and will last six weeks. Ireland is the first European country to take such a decision.

Since Thursday, non-essential businesses have been forced to close. The restrictions do not apply to schools and nurseries, which will remain open until further notice. However, people constrained to take business trips are allowed to travel.

In addition, Wales also decided to re-impose a lockdown for the population. Since Friday,the Welsh have been required to stay at home for two weeks.
