Covid-19: technology to reduce the risk of contagion in the workplace

ProtectWellSince the appearance of Covid-19, many start-ups have ventured into the development of digital solutions to reduce the risk of spreading the virus in the workplace. So far, about fifty applications and technologies have appeared on the market.

Technology giants such as Salesforce and IBM have created a platform for sharing employees' health status and immunization data. Fitbit, a subsidiary of Google, is developing the "Ready to Work" program that collects data via connected objects marketed by the firm.

For their part, Microsoft and United HealthCare have launched the ProtectWell application that verifies the presence of symptoms that indicate the presence of Covid-19. Finally, Amazon is using, in its own premises, a program to verify the proper implementation of the health protocol by its employees.

Imposing the collection of personal data to access the workplace could present risks to privacy and medical confidentiality. Another cause for concern may be the lack of studies demonstrating the effectiveness of technological processes in the fight against Covid-19.
