Covid-19: the price of the vaccine

Everyone is wondering about the price of the Covid-19 vaccine. In the United States, the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech will cost 19.50 USD per dose. Knowing that a person needs two doses, the protection against coronavirus will thus cost 39 USD.

In Europe, the price of the vaccine has not yet been revealed, but it will surely revolve around the American one. It should be noted that BioNTech has already informed that the price of its vaccine will not be the same in all countries.

In the United States, Moderna's vaccine, which also requires two injections, will be marketed for a price ranging between 25 USD and 30 USD per dose. For the same product, Europe is seeking to set the price of a single dose at 25 USD.

Other pharmaceutical manufacturers are already offering much cheaper vaccines. Johnson&Johnson and Sanofi-GSK for instance, plan to market their product at 10 USD per unit. AstraZeneca, on the other hand, is targeting a price of 4 USD per unit.

Apart from the Chinese and Russian products, Pfizer and Moderna take the lead in the vaccine-making race.
