Cryptocurrency theft reaches 927 million dollars in the first nine months of 2018

According to a report by CipherTrace, an American cyber security firm, the theft of cryptocurrency through hacking of stock exchanges and trading platforms reached 927 million USD in the first nine months of 2018.

The report, which focuses on criminal activity and money laundering in the digital currency market, also reveals the existence, in the third quarter of 2018, of smaller thefts ranging from 20 to 60 million USD.

Hackers are increasingly attracted to Bitcoin. Due to the lack of regulation and strict laws against money laundering, hackers are given significant room for manoeuvre.
