Cyclone Idai : Already 300 fatalities reported

Tropical Cyclone Idai is still devastating Southern Africa. The number of deaths is ever-increasing and 300 fatalities have already been reported by March 20th.

In Mozambique, there were no less than 200 deaths and 350 000 people were stuck in flooded areas of 31 500 Km².

Beira's port city airport was fitted out to an emergency operational center.

So far, in Zimbabwe nearly one hundred people died according to a preliminary report. The number of fatalities might triple in no time.

Heavy rains as well as high winds are expected along with great flood risks in other provinces of the two countries.
