Decline in the motor insurance market during the first half of 2016

The motor insurance market achieved a turnover of 34.8 billion DZD (316.6 million USD) during the first half of 2016, down by 1.8% compared to the same period in 2015.

These declining results are accounted for by the decrease in underwriting facultative guarantees, which are falling by 7.8% and the reduction in car imports.

Noting that at 30 June 2016, the motor class of business accounted for 56% of the overall Algerian non life insurance market.
