Swiss Re: Decreasing cost of natural disasters in 2018

According to Swiss Re, the economic losses associated with human or natural disasters have sharply declined in 2018. These losses amount to 155 billion USD compared to 350 billion USD in 2017. The insured losses amount to 79 billion USD in 2018.

It should be recalled the year 2017 was marked by extremely costly disasters such as hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.
