Devastating floods in Iran

On March 19th, 2019 northern Iran was hit by heavy rains followed by floods. According to a preliminary report, the country has recorded at least 43 fatalities.

Southern and eastern Iran were also inundated by the floods which lead to a significant rise in the water level.

According to the Iranian Red Crescent, 43 000 have been rescued and 27 000 others placed in an emergency housing.

The floods have affected 25 over 31 Iraninan districts. The damages reached millions of USD.

By the end of March 2019, other atmospheric disturbances have been announced to the inhabitants through text messages and media.
