Discovery launches banking business

By the end of May, 2019 Discovery will initiate its own banking business in South Africa. This initiative was set up after the withdrawal of FirstRand from the joint venture.

The separation between the two partners has cost the insurer 6 billion ZAR which is equivalent to 421 million USD.

Discovery is a South African group founded in 1992 and specialized in insurance, asset management and savings. Its activities extend to China, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States as well as Singapore.
