Prohibition to underwrite Congolese insurance contracts abroad

ARCAThe Insurance Regulatory and Supervisory Authority (ARCA) of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has banned the underwriting abroad of insurance contracts for the people living on Congolese territory.

The decision follows resolutions taken by the political authorities to fight tax evasion. ARCA's decision is in accordance with the provisions of Article 286 of Law n°15/005 of 17 March 2015, on the Insurance Code.

For the record, the insurance operators authorized to operate in the DRC are those mentioned on the official list published by the regulator.
