Dubai: Visa no longer granted unless health insurance is underwritten
Foreign nationals residing in Dubai can no longer renew their visa unless they have a health insurance policy. Henceforth, the authorities will show no tolerance for persons who fail to comply with this obligation.
The health insurance scheme may be underwritten either online or in the sales offices of some insurers starting from the amount of 200 AED (54.5 USD) for a basic guarantee. The rate may go as high as 650 AED (177 USD) for a more sophisticated coverage.
