Iran : Earthquake insurance plan under way

Iran Insurance Company is intent on marketing an earthquake insurance policy designed for residential buildings.

This plan will be first marketed on an experimental basis in the provinces of Isfahan, Kerman and Yazd before it gets subsequently extended nationwide.

The policy will be covering the cost of the building, temporary housing fees along with clearance expenses.

The other novelty consists in the solidarity fund for the benefit of the victims of natural catastrophes which is due to be established. It will be designed to cover people having failed to underwrite any insurance against natural disasters (floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, lightning and tsunamis).
