Entry into force of new rules for management of insurance disputes

The new rules on the management of insurance disputes enter into force on 13 April 2014.

  • Clarification of the role of preliminary hearings
  • The recognition of international jurisprudence locally
  • Acceptance of any kind of evidence (witnesses, oral or written evidence and the evidence from emails, voice messages, ...)
  • The Committee may order the complainant or the defendant to repay all the legal expenses related to trial
  • The introduction of a prescription period of 5 years for claims (from the date of noting the loss)
