Europeans are under-insured in health insurance

According to a report by Swiss Re, Europe recorded an under-insurance of 750 billion EUR (826.4 billion USD) in the health and welfare sectors. The level of reimbursement of health care of a person off work due to illness or incapacity for work does not allow for adequate compensation.

Policyholders should increasingly contribute to the costs incurred, which makes them vulnerable. This is due, among others, to an aging population and the rising health costs.
