Excellent results in 2018 for the Senegalese insurance market

The Senegalese insurance market records a turnover of 175.320 billion FCFA (305 million USD) in 2018, increasing by 7.9% against 162.423 billion FCFA (297 million USD) a year earlier.

With 113.769 billion FCFA (198 million USD) in premiums the property and casualty insurance increased by 8.8% over one year. The collection of the life activity has reached 61.551 billion FCFA (107 million USD), increasing by 6.3% compared to 2017.

The market remains promising and shall benefit from the economic recovery and the upcoming development of the Hydrocarbon industry.

Senegal holds 19 property and casualty insurance companies and 10 life insurance companies.
