Expected growth for the Saudi motor insurance market

According to consultancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the Saudi motor market is poised to grow by an annual average of 9% as of 2017 to settle at 30 billion SAR (8 billion USD) in 2020. This progression will be mainly accounted for by underwritings of Saudi women, soon to be authorized to drive automobiles.

The survey, published on March 8, 2018, on International Women’s Day, found that the number of female drivers would reach 3 million by 2020, that is, 20% of the total number of Saudi female population. In 2016, Saudi Arabia accounted for 32.28 million inhabitants.
