FANAF 2016, the speakers paid tribute to the pioneers of the West African Insurance

The 40th General Assembly of the Fédération des Sociétés d’Assurances de Droit National Africaines (FANAF), held from 15 to 18 February 2016 in Côte d'Ivoire, has been an opportunity to pay tribute to the Federation founders and personalities who marked the African insurance world.

These include:

  • Diouldé Niane, former president of the FANAF (1982 to 1984) and founder of the SONAM company,
  • Jean Kacou Diagou, former president of the FANAF (1990 to 1996) and founder of the group NSIA,
  • Protais Ayangma, former president of the FANAF (2008 to 2014)
  • Souleymane Meite, CEO of Tropical Société d’Assurance,
  • Pathé Dione, president of SUNU Assurances,
  • Edouard Valentin, pioneer of the development of the insurance activity in Gabon
  • Papa Ndiaga Boye, secretary general of the FANAF for 30 years.

The speakers did not fail to pay tribute also to André Bayala, an important figure in the West African Insurance, who died in March 2015.
