FANAF: adoption of the 2022 budget

The statutory general assembly of the Federation of African National Insurance Companies (FANAF) was held by videoconference on 24 February 2022 in Douala, Cameroon. The meeting was mainly focused on the examination of the accounts closed on 31 December 2021 and the adoption of the 2022 budget which amounts to 989 448 491 FCFA (1 675 384 USD).

The President of FANAF, César Ekomie Afene, stated that this budget favors the ongoing training of the insurance industry's employees, the publication of magazines, documents and leaflets on insurance and reinsurance, the extension of the industry and the establishment of professional relations between the member companies.

The second session of the General Assembly, related to the scientific component, will be held from 23 to 25 May 2022 in Dakar, Senegal. The event, to be held in hybrid mode (onsite or online), will focus on "Systemic Risks: Insurance and Resilience".
