FEGASA: Closing of the seminar on the calculation and revaluation of technical reserves

A closing ceremony of the training seminar, organized by the Gabonese federation of insurance companies (FEGASA), took place on 31 January 2019 in Libreville, Gabon.

Over a four-day period, the theme of the training was "the calculation and revaluation of technical provisions". Participants took advantage of the presence of experts from the Inter-African Conference on African Markets (CIMA) and worked on the basics of the development of the technical reserves and their revaluation.

According to the President of FEGASA Andrew Gwodog, insurers are currently facing the problem of claims settlement. The risks are in fact poorly assessed, hence the importance of becoming familiar with the regulatory processes.
