Financial institutions commit to divest from the tobacco industry

Several financial institutions signed the “Tobacco-Free Finance Pledge” on September 26th, 2018. This is an international campaign launched by governments and health organizations, joined by bankers and insurers.

The 120 signatories, including insurers and reinsurers such as Allianz, AXA, SCOR, Munich Re, Swiss Re, Zurich Insurance, Aviva, Generali, Nat Re and Aegon decided to stop funding the tobacco industry and to withdraw their investments.
