Financial year 2021: Zurich Insurance records one of the best results since its creation

Zurich Insurance has recorded a net profit increase of 36% in 2021. The said profit has gone from 3.834 billion USD as at 31 December 2020 to 5.202 billion USD a year later.

The operating result, for its part, has grown by 35% to reach 5.742 billion USD by the end of 2021. This has turned out to be the best performance recorded by the insurer since 2007.

The group's non-life activity (P&C) has posted a 13% jump in gross premiums to 40.123 billion USD. The non-life combined ratio has reached its best level in 15 years to stand at 94.3% for an operating result of 3.121 billion USD.

As at 31 December 2021, the life activity's turnover totalled 28.353 billion USD, a 3% progress over one year.

The dividend distributed in 2021 of 22 CHF (24 USD) per share was up by 10% compared to that of 2020.
