Fitch is revising life and non-life insurance outlooks

Fitch has revised the outlook of France’s life insurance business downwards from stable to negative. The agency has highlighted the instability of financial markets, the decline in performance and the potential provisioning for assets’ depreciation.
The ratings of French life insurers are likely to be revised downwards in two years’ time. As to non-life insurance, it is tariff increases and the absence of natural catastrophes that pushed Fitch to revise the outlook of this class of business from negative to stable.
