Floods: major damage in Southeastern France

FloodThe South-East of France experienced exceptional climatic disturbances on Sunday, November 24, 2019. The departments of Var and Alpes-Maritimes were hit by rainstorms and floods claiming the lives of four people, leaving two others missing and causing a material damage estimated at 300 million EUR (331 million USD).

The number of claims could be as high as 20 000. During the same period of 2018, similar floods hit the department of Aude (South West), causing 20 800 claims and 214 million EUR (236 million USD) in property damage.
