Ford will build autonomous police cars

In February 2018, a patent was granted to the Ford Motor Company to build autonomous police cars. The latter will be connected via Wi-Fi to a database that includes among others: the network of surveillance cameras, the highway code, the fleet of vehicles, the offenses committed by drivers, ...

The new police cars will also have the ability to perform a large number of routine tasks: scan driver's licenses, schedule the remote sending of tickets ... Thanks to this new equipment, police officers will be able to focus on other important tasks and leave automated ones to machines.

As a reminder, Ford filed its first patent application in July 2016.
