Free insurance for the Indian workers

The Indian Contingency Relief Fund (ICRF), which operates under the Indian embassy patronage, has set up an insurance system free of charge covering approximately 140 000 low-income Indian nationals settled in Bahrain. ICRF is disbursing 39 783 USD in premiums at New India Assurance for the benefit of Indian workers earning less than 150 BHD (400 USD) per month. This one-year cover, starting from June 1, 2010, enables the insured to be indemnified in the event of injuries at workplace.
