French Highway Code: update on light mopeds

A new text dated 14 January 2022 has been added to the French Highway Code. This document integrates the technical characteristics of light mopeds and specifies the conditions of use of these non-thermal engine vehicles with a power rating of 350W or less.

Light mopeds are now classified in the moped category. They are thus subject to the requirement of homologation, to a minimum age for their use, to the wearing of protective equipment and to an insurance policy as well.
