French life insurance market: historical contribution record in November 2021

The provisional figures published by the French Insurance Federation (FFA) show that life insurance contributions amounted to 12.4 billion EUR (14 billion USD) in November 2021. This is the highest level ever reached in November since 2006.

In November 2021, the paid benefits remained almost stable at 10.1 billion EUR (11.4 billion USD). At 2.3 billion EUR (2.6 billion USD), the net collection exceeds the symbolic threshold of 2 billion EUR (2.25 billion USD) for the second consecutive month. This is an increase of 1.9 billion EUR (2.3 billion USD) and 1.3 billion EUR (1.4 billion USD) compared to the same dates in 2020 and 2019.

For the record, the French life insurance market recorded a net outflow of 6.5 billion EUR (7.9 billion USD) in 2020 against a net inflow of 21.9 billion EUR (24.5 billion USD) in 2019.
