Italy: Generali and Progressive on a technological partnership deal

Generali and American Progressive are intent on jointly providing their customers with a new approach to motor risks. Both groups are tapping into their expertise and know-how in telematics to increase the capacity of data analysis and better rate motor risks. They will, therefore, be deploying additional resources in terms of research and development while they are already well ahead in the area of connected vehicle insurance.

This agreement will promote the creation of new products. Since 2011, Generali has been marketing a “pay how you drive” insurance plan in Italy through its direct sale subsidiary Genertel, a scheme based on diver conduct.
