Generali announces its intention to sell its Irish subsidiary

Generali announced, on December 18, 2017, its intention to sell its Irish subsidiary Generali PanEurope to Life Company Consolidation Group. The exact amount of the transaction, which would be finalised in the first half of 2018, has not been disclosed yet. Experts, however, suggest an amount between 230 and 300 million EUR (270 and 353 million USD).

Since 2016, the launch date of its exit plan from markets deemed non strategic, the Italian group has already parted way with its activities in Guatemala, Liechtenstein, Colombia, Panama and Netherlands. This policy of asset disposal strategy will enable it to generate 1 billion EUR (1.2 billion USD) by the end of 2018.
