Generali cedes its Dutch insurance subsidiary

Generali has announced having ceded its Dutch subsidiary to the local insurer ASR Nederland. The transaction worth 143 million EUR (171 million USD) is part of the group's consolidation plan launched in recent years.

The Italian insurer, who is willing to disengage from its business in about 15 countries, hopes to generate more than 1 billion EUR (1.2 billion USD) from the sale of its assets deemed non-strategic.
