Generali: excellent results 2019

By the end of 2019, Generali reported a turnover of 69.8 billion EUR (78.2 billion USD) against 66.7 billion EUR (76.3 billion USD) in 2018. Non-life insurance premiums amounted to 21.5 billion EUR (24.077 billion USD), increasing by 3.9%.

Despite the high number of natural disasters, the combined ratio stood at 92.6%, up 0.4 points compared to 2018. Life insurance recorded a turnover of 48.26 billion EUR (54.044 billion USD) , rising by 4.5%. The net profit reached 2.7 billion EUR (3.023 billion USD), up 15.7% in comparison with the previous year.

Total assets grew by 29%, from 488 billion EUR (558 billion USD) in 2018 to 630 billion EUR (705 billion USD) one year later 2019. The shareholder’s equity improved by 20% to 28.3 billion EUR (31.7 billion USD) in 2019 against 23.6 billion EUR (26.9 billion USD) in 2018.

The solvency margin was of 224%. Generali will distribute a dividend up of 6.7% to its shareholders.
