Italy: Generali is ceding its activities in Liechtenstein and Guatemala

Generali has announced a refocusing of its operations towards geographical areas where the potential for growth is high and where investments are less demanding in terms of capital. The group will therefore sell its 51% stake held in the non life insurer Aseguradora Generali based in Guatemala. Generali will also part way with Fortuna Lebens Versicherung in Liechtenstein which it detains at 100%. This life insurance company will be taken over by FWU, a financial group across the Rhine. Fortuna Lebens Versicherung had been placed in run-off in 2015.
