Generali publishes its 2017 results

At the end of 2017, Italian insurer Generali posted a net result of 2.1 billion EUR (2.5 billion USD), up by 1.4% compared to 2016.

The turnover amounted to 68.54 billion EUR (82.11 billion USD), showing a slight decrease of 0.2% in one year. The life class of business achieved 47.79 billion EUR (57.25 billion USD) in premiums against 20.75 billion EUR (24.86 billion USD) for the non-life class of business. The combined non-life ratio stabilized at 92.8%, a slight increase of 0.5 points compared to 2016.

The dividend paid to shareholders rose from 0.8 EUR (1,02USD) per share in 2016 to 0.85 EUR (1.02 USD) at the end of 2017, an increase of 6%.
