Generali ready to pursue its external growth strategy

GeneraliDespite a difficult economic context linked to the coronavirus crisis, Generali has maintained the objectives of its three-year strategic plan 2019-2021.

The insurer has already invested 1.6 billion EUR (1.87 billion USD) in several small and medium-sized acquisitions and intends to allocate the sum of 2.5 billion EUR (2.96 billion USD) to other transactions.

As at 30 September 2020, the Italian insurer reported a turnover of 51.989 billion EUR (60.854 billion USD), an increase of 1.18% compared to the same period in 2019.

Life premiums amounted to 35.423 billion EUR (41.463 billion USD) against 16.566 billion EUR (19.39 billion USD) for non-life class insurance.

The group's net profit reached 1.297 billion EUR (1.518 billion USD), a decline of 40% in comparison with the 2.163 billion EUR (2.365 billion USD) recorded as at 30 September 2019.
