Generali: significant profit increase in Q1 2021

Generali has posted a turnover of 19.714 billion EUR (23.1 billion USD) in the first quarter of 2021, an increase of 2.8% against the 19.163 billion EUR (21.1 billion USD) recorded at the end of March 2020.

With 6.885 billion EUR (8.08 billion USD), non-life premiums are slightly increasing by 0.6%.

The combined ratio stands at 88%, showing an improvement of 1.5 point compared to 2020.

As for the life activity, it has recorded 12.829 billion EUR (15.05 billion USD) in written premiums, rising by 4.1% compared to the first quarter of 2020.

During the period under review, the Italian insurer has achieved a net profit of 802 million EUR (941.3 million USD), a 609.7% increase compared to the same period of 2020.
