Generali to secure a stake in Cattolica

GENERALIGenerali finalized the acquisition of 24.4% of Cattolica’s capital, an Italian insurance company. The operation required the issue of 54 million Cattolica shares for 300 million EUR (336 million USD).

The shareholding was also associated with a strategic partnership covering four activities: asset management, the Internet of Things, health insurance and reinsurance.

For the record, the American group Berkshire Hathaway owns 9.047% of Cattolica.
