Ghana Re: 2020 results increase

Ghana ReGhana Re has recorded a 23% increase in its turnover in 2020. Written premiums have gone from 253.37 million GHC (44.332 million USD) in 2019 to 311.56 million GHC (52.968 million USD) a year later.

Non-life premiums stand at 286.39 million GHC (48.67 million USD) against 25.17 million GHC (4.28 million USD) for the life class of business.

As at 31 December 2020, the management expenses stand at 56.19 million GHC (9.5 million USD), thus showing a 35% rise over one year.

The net result is up by 39% to reach 41.94 million GHC (7.13 million USD) against 30.16 million GHC (5.277 million USD) at the end of December 2019.

The return on equity (ROE) amounts to 14.8% in 2020.

As for the closed fiscal year, the reinsurer is paying a dividend of a total amount of 10 million GHC (1.7 million USD).
