Groupama is pursuing its expansion strategy

The mutual insurer Groupama is pursuing its expansion strategy on the eastern European markets, namely in Romania. After the company BT Asigurari, acquired in December 2007 and OTP Garancia Asigurari, undergoing takeover, Groupama is in exclusive talks for the control of Asiban.
Being the third Romanian insurer with 8% of the market shares, Asiban reported in 2007 a premium volume of 185.8 million EUR (287 million USD), a 39% rise in comparison with 2006.
