He invents a ghost story to get motor insurance indemnification

On January 14, 2018, the Mauritian police arrested a man for public misdeed. The latter was then accused of having intentionally dived his car into a river a day earlier.

During the interrogation, the defendant stated to have seen a ghost (a woman in white) floating in the air. An evasive maneuver would then have caused his road exit.

Under the pressure of police officers not convinced by his version of the facts, the owner of the vehicle ended up by admitting that he voluntarily immersed his car in order to get indemnified by his motor insurance.
