Hurricane Matthew caused 15 billion USD in economic damage

According to AON, the passage of hurricane Matthew on the United States and the Caribbean has caused 15 billion USD in economic damage. Two thirds of this amount, 10 billion USD, are for the United States. Cuba comes second with 2.5 billion USD followed by Haiti with 1.9 billion USD and the Bahamas with 600 million USD.

The hurricane continued its path lashing the east coast of Canada where it caused torrential rain whose damage have been evaluated at 10 million USD. Hurricane Matthew has become the costliest catastrophe in the United States since Sandy in 2012.
