IGI builds on the potential of the MENA region

In an interview with Lebanese magazine "Al Bayan Economic", Waleed Jabsheh, president of IGI Bermuda and executive director of IGI UK highlighted the insurance potential of the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa).

Despite the difficult conditions and the concerns about economic slowdown, Jabsheh remains confident about the future of the region. The emergence of new financial centers and insurance hubs such as Dubai and Casablanca supports the rapid development of the MENA zone.
For the president of IGI, the group he leads continues to develop its know-how in niche markets such as renewable energy, a booming industry in the region.

Present in Dubai, London, Amman, Bermuda, Casablanca and Kuala Lumpur, International General Insurance generates 70% of its revenues on international markets. Like many insurers and reinsurers, IGI has been affected by the exceptional cyclones that hit the United States in 2017.

"The company has been quick to meet all of its commitments. For instance, four days after the occurrence of Hurricane Irma, IGI had already started the first payments, "said Waleed Jabsheh.
