Increased protection of policyholders

The regulators have set next June 30 for the enactment of the new rules designed to better protect the consumers. These provisions allow for greater supervision of insurance companies when advertising, ensuring that commercial messages are clear and not confusing. Tighter control over insurance companies’ agents and staff is also on the agenda. The objective is to improve policyholders’ perception of the sector in order to increase the penetration rate which has stagnated at around 3%
